Yes, it had to be done sometime. I had a customer enquiring after a "standard" 10-string instrument, and I was able to persuade him that this was a good idea. It turned out great, the extra length on the bass strings is exactly what is needed for that difficult low C (or D), and it was good to see that the fan frets actually work for such a small instrument. It's based on the tenor Mandola body, feels and balances well, looks good, sounds good, what else can you ask, and what else can I make with fan frets?
